DIY Distractions

Mom got this book at the library today:Do-It-Yourself Early Learning: Easy and Fun Activities and Toys from Everyday Home Center MaterialsIt looks extremely promising as a resource to provide lots of distractions, errr, learning experiences for Kiddo. When the first project is "Baby Catapult" you can't go wrong with that.

The only potential problem is that it looks like many of the projects call for the use of PVC pipes. This is not on Mom's list of approved materials. Surely, a substitute can be found and all is not lost.

  1. Cool book, I'll have to look for that one. I agree with you on the PVC, though! You'll have to let us know if you find a good alternative.

    P.S. Fire escapes count!

  3. we used tons of pvc pipes at our school - to build with ourselves (puppet theatre, etc.), for the kids to build with (making cool large-scale sculptures), etc.
