Chalkboard Art
When you can't get outside to paint with water on the pavement (a great outdoor activity, by the way) the next best thing is painting with water on a chalkboard. Kiddo spent an excessively long time doing this and I think this photo demonstrates his enthusiasm better than I can describe with words!

Oh yes! Thanks for jogging the old memory! G has a hanging chalkboard but hasn't touch it for months--I'm sure a jar of water would be just the trick to entice him back to it. :)
