Apple Blossoms

While chopping up an apple core for the compost, I noticed that the seed pockets formed a lovely flower shape. I gave the pieces to Kiddo with some paint to do some printing. He especially liked how the stem made a natural handle, so he didn't have to get his hands messy (he's very fastidious). I'll be looking at my kitchen scraps in a new light.
Make sure you cut the apple cross-wise to find the blossom.

  2. that came out really nice. I saw someone else did it, and they made apple shaped prints on a t-shirt.

  4. We call it a star in our house, but it's the same deal. :) I like your idea of how to cut the apple so it's easy to hold. When we did this I cut a whole apple cross-wise and it was very slippery and difficult for my 2-year-old to hold the entire half-sphere in her hand.
