Filling the Days of our Urban Life with Food, Books and Learning.
We have two older books (and more in German), but daughter is not at all interested in fairy tales. She finds all of them "too scary".
I am interested in hearing what others have to share. I too am looking for some good fairy tales for my boys.

I recently saw this title and thought of your request. One more title to add to the list: Norton's Classic Fairy Tales, edited by Maria Tatar.
I have found a number of good old ones free on Google Books. I particularly like Hawthorne's ones (Tanglewood Tales). See my list here: http://mobmom.wordpress.com/2011/01/12/my-new-homeschooling-friend-google-books/I also really like the illustrations in Classic Fairy Tales by Scott Gustafson if you are only looking for a hands on version.
