Sure, there are children's picture books which are cute, amusing, silly, but have you ever read a book to your child and laughed so hard that tears rolled down your cheeks?
May I present to you:
Jon Klassen's I Want My Hat Back just came out and when I read this book to my kids, I LMAO - and so did my husband. You will not expect the ending. You simply will not.
Go get it.
Now.
I'm linking (or will be...) this to Feed Me Books Friday, What My Child is Reading and Book Sharing Monday.
P.S. Do not, I repeat DO NOT read any spoiler reviews. But it's safe to watch the trailer.
OK, I am intrigued. Will be looking for my hat... er... this book.
ReplyDeleteJust requested this one too. You are definitely my #1 source of inspiration for library books!
ReplyDeleteHmm,will request this book. Thanks for lınkıng up to BSM. I sent you an email last week, did you see it?I guess I ended up ın your spam folder.
ReplyDeleteI'm also quite intrigued. Off to the library website to see if they have it yet...
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny you liked it - I totally hated it and gave away my review copy. Maybe I should have called you to have you explain -- just didn't get it.
ReplyDeleteHA HA! Maybe I just have an extremely perverse sense of humor. I found the combination of deadpan delivery, reversal of situation, the ability of the subtly changing illustrations to tell a story, and the surprise twist to be too much for me to keep a straight face. Of course my two year old didn't get it at all, but my 6 year old loved the way the book makes the audience "in on the joke."
ReplyDeleteI love that book. So deadpan-ly funny.
